Sam C. LoBrutto of Pittston passed away July 8, 2013 at the Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton.
Born April 24, 1921 in Pittston, he was the son of the late Cologero & Lucia Dinofrio LoBrutto.
Sam attended Pittston schools before enlisting in the Army, where he served during WWII. During his time in service he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippines Liberations Ribbon and many other awards.
Sam was a proud owner of and operator of Yatesville Bus Co. for more than 70 years.
He was a member of St. Rocco’s R.C. Church, V.F.W Post 4909 Dupont, PA., and various societies throughout the greater Pittston Area.
Sam’s hobbies included being an avid Eagles Football fan for over 58 years and bowling at Elko’s Bowling Center on Wednesday evenings.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his Brother Carmen LoBrutto and Brother In Law Mike Turco.
Surviving are his sisters Fedelia Turco, Julie and Husband James Chimento, Mary LoBrutto, Dora and Husband Louis Esposito, Sister in Law Rose LoBrutto. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Twp., PA.
Viewing hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 5pm-8pm.
Funeral Services with military honors will begin at the funeral home on Friday, July 12 at 9:00am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday from St. Joseph Marello Parish, William St., Pittston. At 9:30am.
Interment services with military honors will take place in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery Chapel, Pittston.
Sam will be laid to rest with his family in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Pittston.
